After 35 years together my husband and I were legally married in 2015. We are in year 41 and the legality of that marriage is now hanging in the balance. We as Americans must take to heart the lessons of the past 4 years. We must never let the outrage subside. We must hold those who undermine democracy to account. We must always remember that Democracy can be taken away in such small increments that it's hardly noticeable till it's too late. The past 4 years have filled me with; fear, anger, and hate. It has taken friends and family from me and countless others. From these hardships there are lessons to be learned. I believe the American people have snapped out of a political coma.
